A few notes from Chicago-Midway from my flight yesterday…
Firstly, in a welcome development, they’ve got free wifi — 15 minutes of free access for each ad you watch; a maximum of 4 ads per day. Didn’t actually have to watch any ads to get access on my iPhone, though.
Secondly, there’s this bakery (I’m not sure if it’s a chain or not, and I couldn’t find a website for it), called Let Them Eat Cake, whose proprietors seem to have modeled their store after a French boulangerie. Only it was apparent they didn’t know what they were doing from the plethora of bad French in the store (you know, incorrect use of partitives, incorrect genders — one particularly egregious example: le salades — bleh!). Strangely enough, I managed to suppress my revulsion and ordered a strawberry cheese croissant, but as I should have expected it was horrible.
And yes, it has occurred to me that I should change my header graphic.
But parting with Europe is so painful that it must be done extremely slowly!
